Skoda "Siblings" Get A Facelift
With an enviable product range and the car to suit everyone, Skoda still want to keep moving and to inject some new life into the range will be launching new facelifted versions of its Kamiq and Scala models, which both have refreshed styling and updated technology.
The Kamiq has been given a more rugged look thanks to a re-designed bumper with sharper lines and new headlights and similar changes are applied to the Scala, which benefits from a new grille and slimmer lights.
The engine ranges comprise three TSI petrol units. The entry-level engine is a 95PS three-cylinder unit with a manual five-speed transmission. A 115PS version is available with a manual six-speed gearbox or a seven-speed DSG.
The comfort-oriented Design Selection “Suite” comes with leather-upholstered seats that can be heated and electrically adjusted as standard and the sporty Monte Carlo offers even more visual highlights.
There is a range of assistance systems for the Scala and Kamiq with both models featuring Front Assist with Pedestrian Monitor, Lane Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Adaptive Lane Assist are also available as options for both
Finally, the refresh of the Scala and Kamiq has added some Simply Clever features that were previously available for other Skoda models. The Virtual Pedal, which enables drivers to use a foot movement to open the optional electric tailgate, is now offered along with smartphone storage pockets on the backs of the front seats.
