Road Safety Week with MIX 56
Lightcliffe Škoda was certainly the place to be earlier today when it entertained a VIP guest.
Paul Smith from Cheshire’s own MIX 56 radio station came down to visit the dealership as part of their Road Safety Week Community initiative.
Road Safety Week is promoted during the third week of November each year and this year is taking place from November 19th to November 25th. As well as being a timely reminder for road safety in general it was given a special poignancy this week following terribly sad news about the four young Shropshire lads who sadly lost their lives in North Wales at the weekend in a road traffic accident.
Paul emphasised their support for this initiative which creates an opportunity for communities and organizations alike to engage in their own road safety initiatives.
Our guest was given a guided tour of the dealership and in particular the workshop and EV Bay. He then spent some time with senior technician Andy Thompson and service manager Louise Olson who were both on hand and gave the benefit of their own experience by suggesting a few key safety tips.
These included simple checks on lights, brakes, tyres and general well-being of the vehicle but Andy also gave a couple of extra top tips based on his 20 years in the industry. These included taking a blanket and extra water on long journeys during the Winter and making sure that phones were fully charged before setting off as well as being kept on charge during the journey.
As a business that values its place in the community Lightcliffe Škoda is offering a discounted Winter health check for any local motorists who want to give their vehicle quick once over, and this offer is open to anyone regardless of the vehicle that they drive. Interested parties should contact us at the dealership or email skodaserviceteam@lightcliffe.co.uk.
