John Hands Keys To New Lightcliffe GM Nick
When a member of staff moves on to new pastures it often engenders a mixture of emotions and whilst loyal friends and colleagues will be happy for that person to seek the next chapter of their life journey the news will always be tinged with an element of sadness.
So it is with a slightly heavy heart that we announce the departure of our long-standing friend and colleague John Sharp who will no longer be general manager here at Lightcliffe Skoda.
John joined the business nearly 10 years ago briefly as sales manager then taking over the stewardship of the dealership in 2016.
His cheerful demeanour was always popular with customers and his particular brand of management, namely treating all staff with care and respect in equal measure, was greatly appreciated by his colleagues.
Joining the dealership after several years as top salesman at nearby Halliwell BMW John helped to steer Lightcliffe through unchartered times, including the significant move towards electric vehicles and the Covid pandemic which was one of the biggest challenges that the motor industry has seen for decades.
John formally handed the keys over to incumbent general manager Nick Price last week who also brings a wealth of experience to the job and spent a couple of weeks inducting Nick into the exciting world of the Skoda Auto!
Nick also worked his way through the ranks to become a general manager for Renault and had great success in the used car supermarket space which again is a considerable achievement in the current climate.
One thing they both have in common is an amiable personality and convivial style of management which is probably why Nick has been immediately welcomed with open arms by all the team here at Lightcliffe.
So Bienvenu to Nick, Bon Voyage to John, and wherever the next chapter of your life leads John, you take with you the very best wishes from all of your colleagues here at Lightcliffe.
